Veterinarians

Dr. Kubinec: Jeff was born and raised in Thunder Bay and attended Sir Winston Churchill Collegiate and Vocational Institute. He graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 1983. He opened his own practice, the Fort William Animal Clinic in 1985, and later purchased Balmoral Park Veterinary Clinic. In 2004, with the help of his wife Colleen, the new Thunder Bay Veterinary Hospital was designed and built. Dr. Kubinec has furthered his education by taking additional courses in dentistry, endoscopy, ultrasonography, and laser surgery. Jeff is the proud father of two children, Holly and Connor. He also has two dogs, Floyd and Nina, and one cat, Oliver. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, biking, rollerblading, playing hockey, and coaching baseball.
Dr. Alderson: Graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Saskatoon, 1995. Dr. Alderson has worked with the Thunder Bay Veterinary Hospital since 1995. She has taken a special interest in exotic pets during her career. Her patients include dogs, cats, small rodents, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, ferrets, reptiles, birds and many other species. Dr. Alderson has a certificate in Veterinary Acupuncture, Food Therapy and Lab Animal Medicine (rodents,rabbits and other exotic species). Dr. Alderson has two cats, two degu, two goldfish and two daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, reading, sewing and cake decorating.
Dr. Beveridge: Graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, Guelph 1984 and BSc at Acadian University 1979. She has been working at our hospital since 1995. She has two cats, "Toko" and "Sandy" who are Siamese crosses and were adopted from Animal Services. She enjoys cross country skiing, running, hiking and spending time with her husband and children.
Dr. Vander Kooi: Graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College, 1993. She has worked at our hospital since April, 2007. She has a German Shepherd named "Gigi" and two cats named "Fred" and "George". She enjoys performing various surgeries and doing endoscopy. In her spare time she likes to work on her computer with computer graphics.
Dr. Panontin: Graduate of Ontario Veterinary College, 2011. We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Panontin as part of our veterinary team. She is very excited to meet new patients. She has an interest in exotic pets and will soon be taking on a variety of furry and scaly patients and possibly feathered friends in the future. She has three pets, a yellow lab named Samantha, a brown tabby cat named Satine and Trillion, a leopard gecko. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors and at camp as well as playing with her two little nieces.
