Fundraising
We, at the Thunder Bay Veterinary Hospital feel that it is important to "give back" to our community and to support various pet-related charities. The following are some of the events our staff members participate in throughout the year to show our support.
Leash-a-thon
Each year, for the past sixteen years, our hospital staff have organized a "Pet Charity Leash-a-thon" fundraising event. This event usually takes place during the month of June. Registered participants walk around Boulevard Lake and join us for a BBQ picnic afterwards at the Current River park. Many local businesses, as well as several of our suppliers generously donate prize items for our event.
Our 17th Annual Pet Charity Leash-a-thon will be held on Saturday, June 9th, 2012.

Farley Fundraising Month
During the month of October our hospital staff raise money for the Farley Foundation. The Farley Foundation assists seniors and disabled persons on limited incomes with the necessary treatment of their pets. Along with selling miscellaneous Farley items, one of our very successful fundraising inititiaves is for clients and local businesses to sponsor a spay or neuter surgery for a homeless pet at the City of Thunder Bay Animal Services Centre.

Alzheimer's Coffee Break
During the month of September, the staff at the Thunder Bay Veterinary Hospital host a coffee break in support of the Alzheimer Society.
Dress for the Cause
In the month of October, many of our staff members participate in "Dress for the Cure" to raise money in support of the Breast Cancer Society of Canada.
Pet Portraits for the Thunder Bay Christmas Cheer Program
During the months of November and December 2011, we offered to take pet portraits. All proceeds were donated to the Thunder Bay Christmas Cheer Program.
