October is Fundraise for Farley Month

During the month of October our hospital staff members raise money for the Farley Foundation.

Our hospital was the highest "Farley Month" fundraising veterinary practice in all of Ontario in 2011! Over $6200 was raised by our hospital. We have been recognized as the Official Farley Foundation Ambassador. Thank you to everyone who donated!

The Farley Foundation is a registered charitable organization that assists seniors and disabled persons on limited incomes with the necessary treatment of their pets.

The following are some of the fundraising initiatives that are usually offered at our hospital during the month of October:

• Farley Paw (write your name on a paw and help decorate our reception desk)
• Special Farley item for sale (past items included shopping bags, collapsible bowls, pet tags, dog treats)
• Farley Nail Trim (have your pet's nails trimmed while in for an appointment)
• Sponsor a Spay or Neuter (for a homeless pet at the City of Thunder Bay Animal Services Centre)
• Sponsor sheet (ask friends and family or fellow employees to donate)
• Make a donation (any amount)

A portion of the money raised at our annual pet charity Leash-a-thon is donated to the Farley Foundation as well.
